Carmel Man Faces Shoplifting Charge

A man from Carmel has been charged with shoplifting after an incident at a local supermarket.

On Thursday, Jan. 24 around 5:15 p.m., police responded to Tops Friendly Markets in Putnam Plaza upon a report of a man taking items from the store.

Police arrived and arrested 50-year-old Anthony Bova. He was transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for processing.

Bova was issued an appearance ticket for petit larceny. It was also discovered that he had an open warrant for petit larceny from the Yonkers Police Department. Yonkers Police was notified, confirmed the warrant and agreed to extradite Bova.

Bova is scheduled to appear in the Town of Carmel Justice Court at a later date.
